PMP®certification program is most suitable for professionals who are already into a role which requires them to perform activities related to Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Control or Closing of projects, and who are eventually planning to go on to apply for PMI’s PMP® credential. This program may also be suitable for beginners who are planning to make a career in Project Management. As the demand for skilled project managers is at a critically urgent level, practitioners who are formally trained for Project Management and/or hold the PMP credential are well positioned to provide the professional skills necessary to lead project teams and achieve successful project results. The PMP program recognizes the competence of an individual to perform in the role of a project manager, specifically, experience in leading and directing projects
After the successful completion of the course, the candidates should be able to:
- Apply for PMI’s PMP examination with the required 35 PDUs awarded by NIBM
- Perform their duties under general supervision and are responsible for all aspects of the project for the life of the project
- Lead and direct cross-functional teams to deliver projects within the constraints of schedule, budget, and scope
- Keep projects on task, on time and on budget, through a highly advanced and engaging Project Management framework
- Demonstrate sufficient knowledge and experience to appropriately apply a methodology to Projects that have reasonably well-defined requirements and deliverables

Certification
Each candidate is required to pass a written exam (paper based*) and demonstrate expertise in all areas of Project Management. The questions are allotted on a percentage basis from each one of the Project Management processes(Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring & Control and Closing). The candidates must attain a minimum of 50% of marks in at least any 4 of the above mentioned process groups, and also secure at least 50% in the overall exam.
